The senator has become little more than a pathetic pawn in a dangerous game. Why Iowans voted to send him back to the Senate is beyond me. Chuck has become the very definition of a useful idiot.
Thanks, Barry, for calling out Grassley on this, among other, atrocities. But this is a big one. We all deserve answers to those questions you posed, but we know we will not receive them. He is not only not accountable to Iowans and the the rest of the country, he cannot even be accountable to himself. Keep after 'em. We all appreciate your hard work
A few years back I wrote to Grassley of my disgust on an issue I now can not possibly recall—way too many of such issues over the years—and I equated his acquiescence to Trump as that of Neville Chamberlain. The response I received was one of displeasure at the comparison. Apparently either he or his staff writers took offense. Well, yeah. I meant it to be offensive. Today “ Comrade” seems far more apt. As an Iowan, the only thing Grassley owes me at this point is to resign immediately. Of course, that allows Kimmie to anoint his grandson or whomever she deigns. Kind of screwed either way here.
Congratulations to Barry Piatt on such a timely article. As one who served with Chuck in the Iowa Legislature and use to visit him in his Office in Washington, I couldn't agree more with the slide that Chuck is on in losing his grasp on his legacy. I am sad that he hasn't been able to see his inability to keep up with these changing times.

Perhaps it is Grassley we need to do an impeachment inquiry on!
