He’s beyond too elderly to be in any position!!! He’s tired and has an aged body and brain. That’s not being mean, but rather just stating the obvious!! Who knows what some group may or may not have on him…….either way he isn’t doing his job and therefore none of us in Iowa are being represented in addition to the danger he puts us all in! Republicans don’t care……not about constituents and not about democracy.

What do you think the Federalist gang has on him 🤔

IMHO, much like the situation of other Republicans, I don’t think the Federalist Society has anything on him. I don’t think Trump has anything on him.

I think it’s a combination of other factors. First, he’s terrified of having Trump turn against him. Death threats are now common against politicians who cross Trump.

Second, he must be drunk on power, a phenomenon quite common in the Trump Party. The party members tell the most outrageous lies since they’ve observed there is no meaningful consequence.

And, third, he’s in the sunset of his life. He’s spent. He doesn’t care. What a reckless way to destroy his reputation.

Apparently he's the senator Iowa deserves as our state falls behind in so many other ways (education, environment, social services, etc).

"What happened to Grassley?" Nothing. He's the same as he always was. From Axios Des Moines, June 16, 2022 (Franken is running against Grassley):

The retired U.S. Navy Admiral Franken responded via Twitter Wednesday with a 1980 newspaper clip from the Sioux City Journal. The tweet has since been deleted. In it, Grassley was named by the Ku Klux Klan as one of 50 congressmen and senators that "deserve White Christian Patriots' support for re-election due to his record," the 42-year-old story said.

The “Gentleman farmer from New Hartford”, has been neither for some time now. He’s been on a public payroll since 1958, and in Washington since before the end of the Vietnamese War. The ‘awe shucks’, good old boy common sensed, tractor riding image he’s fashioned over this time was played out long ago. Just like the independent taxpayer watchdog image, perpetrated by his staff and handlers has. Our senior senator is a D.C. insider, and who’s been a pawn for Republican right wing extremists since I was young.

Now a septuagenarian, the only surprising revelation about your excellent read was that I was totally unsurprised by its contents.

This is the same guy who implied President Biden had stayed too long. Now that his grandson, has been indicating signals of aspirations for higher office, I fear we’re liable to be harnessed by nepotism for the foreseeable future. Frightening indeed.

Someday they (we?) will say of Grassley what they are now saying of Biden but it will be too late. It's too late now. He's doing so much damage...All I had to do was read your headline to agree with you!

Of course, this needs to be Grassley’s last stint in the Senate. But, rehashing that you disagreed with his response to the non sequitur event of the illigitimate reporter being added to a government chat with non lethal items discussed about a military strike is nothing but hyperbole. TDS hyperbole. Then there’s the jet gift from Qatar. You do realize Clinton accepted a multi million dollar helicopter from a foreign country while president and used it personally after leaving office. I just love reading your continuing false flag attempts to paint #45/47 - and those who support him - as outliers. Hardly. Go back and review the election numbers. Keep it up. Your writing is a hoot.

I think he is on auto-pilot. He uses variations of the same ol’ dodgy responses that have served him in the past so he can concentrate on his order at the Dairy Queen.

Grassley is on auto pilot? What say you about Biden now that the truth of his long term mental incompetence is revealed?
