I sent your article about Congressman Schwengel on to many friends and family members. We had the best conversation of the personal memories we had of meeting the Congressman or being the beneficiary of his good work. I did not know of his work to keep the history of the Capitol alive and meaningful for all of us; talk about a labor of love! Thank you.

Barry— A wonderful piece. You let the readers see not just Fred Schwengel’s passion for the capitol, but yours as well!

Thank you, Richard! I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know Mr. Schwengel. It was so fun working in a place so full of history, especially when, thanks to his work, it was possible to learn, understand, and appreciate that history.

Again, a fascinating, commemorative piece of American history, through the eyes of eagle-eyed historian and my high school classmate, Barry Piatt. For the life of me, I wish we would one day find a published collection under your authorship for our nation to enjoy.

Thank you, Mary Lou! We were blessed, you’ll recall, with a couple of history teachers who really had a way of making history come alive - Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Gordon. I am so grateful to them, even after all these years!
