The Republicans certainly make it seem like everyone is corruptible. I always used to think I disagreed with Chuck Grassley on most things, but that he had integrity. That is completely gone. Power has certainly corrupted Iowa’s leaders. Thanks, Barry, for your clear perspective.

Thank you, Virginia. It is sad to see what has become of that party, even in Iowa. The days of Bob Ray, Mary Louise Smith, Art Neu, Andrew Varley, etc and their kind in the Republican Party are, indeed, long gone.

I don’t remember anyone in my entire family, Republicans and Democrats alike, who aspired to be a yes man or woman. Time to unelect the sycophant.

Excellent column, Barry. Sadly, most Republicans are totally unaware of this slide towards a dictatorship. So much for Republicans and their patented blather about freedom, eh?

BTW, I suggest to you and all that we abandon "autocrat" and "authoritarian" from our lexicon in describing Trump. Use the old term that everyone recognizes: dictator.

Thank you, Chris. I’m not sure they even know what freedom means any more beyond that we should all be “free” what they tell us to do

And they went on and on about DEI hires. 🤦🏽‍♀️ They aspire to dictatorship. They’re cognizant and culpable.
