I’m with Richard, Barry. You are indeed a sentinel, and we certainly need you. Our congressional delegation is displaying huge cowardice, one and all. Unfortunately, cowardice seems to be the behavior of choice for just about every Republican in Washington.

Thank you also for continuing to keep our eyes open on the farm bill. There are a lot of moving pieces to keep track of, part of the plan, I think, to confuses us while the government is taken over by the oligarchs. Your voice is essential.

Thank you, Virginia! You are exactly right about what is going on, who is hoping to confuse us and why.

Thanks for your insights Barry. Our reps rolling over for Trump...giving him a free pass for letting cop killers clemency...is disgusting.

Thank you. I never ever thought we’d be experiencing anything like this. But here we are.

Vandalism is almost too kind a word for this attack on our very system of government!

You’re right, but I was going for a world tgat reflected the unthinking ignorance annd inarticulate annger annd resentment involved in his actions. Also that he’s doing much of this unfocused rage simply because he can.

I'm moving back to Iowa this spring. I'm alarmed about the maga/trump influence. Iowa has always leaned republican. But this isn't republican. This is dangerous to anyone who isn't a trump sycophant. You listed all the writers in the IWC and that's great. But I didn't see a list of Iowa's Congressional delegation - both senators and representatives. I'm betting that no more than 30% of the population could even name them all let alone how to contact them. Politicians (and Iowa's delegation are certainly politicians because they show no sign of being representative) don't respond to formal political posts like yours, and mine, on occasion. No. They react to how many phone calls and emails they get. They'll never see or hear them, but their staffs keep track. They're afraid of being primaried if they cross trump. Let them know that a primary battle can come from home too. I'm not an Iowan again yet, but I hope to stir the pot a little more when I get there. And I look forward to joining the IWC. If all the IWC members would post the same list of names and contact info for all the Iowa senators and representatives, imagine the outpouring of disgust those in the Iowa delegation might receive! Remember, it isn't just liberals who are upset. It's everyone else who isn't maga - that 49%+ of the U.S. population. Go get 'em! Help them fight back. I do thank you for your informative columns. I've just discovered the IWC and am trying hard to catch up on all the good works!

I found this information online:

https://govrel.uiowa.edu/federal-relations/iowa-congressional-delegation

Iowa is represented in the US House by 4 members of the US House of Representatives:

Rep. Hinson - https://hinson.house.gov/

Rep. Miller-Meeks - https://millermeeks.house.gov/

Rep. Nunn - https://nunn.house.gov/

Rep. Feenstra - https://feenstra.house.gov/

and 2 Senators :

Senator Ernst - https://www.ernst.senate.gov/

Senator Grassley - https://www.grassley.senate.gov/

The links will take you to each rep’s or senator’s page. (You'll have to copy and paste.) Each one provides a form to complete with your name, address, reason for contact, and space to write as much as you want. They need your address to ensure you are in their congressional district. And the senators will respond only to input from Iowans. I’ve written to them but, since I’m not yet an Iowa vote they sometimes don’t even respond with a “thank you for your interest.”

So, the rest is up to you, dear Iowans. Remind them that being “primaried” can happen from home state coalitions, too. And anything from their home state would have more pull and punch than anything from the RNC.

On target commentary with only one exception. I do not see the majority of Iowas news, print and television, trying very hard to report on what is taking place. QCTimes notably has become the local vanguard for soft stories and hiding news inside with misleading headlines.
