Thank you, Virginia. It was startling to me when I first saw this recruiting poster, too. But as I said, I understand exactly how we got here. It is also important to hold our delegation in Congress accountable for helping to normalize political violence in America’s political system and enabling - by not carding very much about it - the next attack on democracy. It is so sad!

Something that stuck with me (in my craw) is our Attorney General, Brenna Bird, going to New York City to support former Presiden Trump, claiming, as our Governor did, that it was a 'sham' trial and further claiming it was a weaponization of the judicial system against a political 'enemy'. She has forgotten or doesn't care that her position as a State Attorney is to ascertain the facts and allow the process to play out. She herself has 'politicized' the judicial system in Iowa at the behest of a Governor who, in nominating Bird, said "I want my own Attorney General".
Yes, what they have both done to corrupt the legal system is pretty unforgivable. And that’s exactly what it is - corruption. Thanks for reading, caring - and for not forgetting.
November 6th will be an interesting day. Many of the MAGA Attorneys General will be trying to overturn elections.
The Civil War has already started. Texas' governor and criminal attorney general are refusing to allow the federal government to complete its duties on our border with Mexico. I predict there will be more actions or inactions like this in the future and especially after Harris wins the election.
Your message is sobering - yet encouraging in an unexpected way. A big fear I have now (also expressed by Joe Biden recently) is what chaos might be in store, already being planned by Trump and the Republicans, if and when the election results do not tilt in their direction.
A military type response, although scary, may be the thing that saves democracy from authoritarianism.
I’m glad to see them taking the threat seriously. Jim. In 2021 the USCP was so anxious not to appear to be expecting trouble - when there were warning signs all over the place that trouble was coming.
